We have known Shaun McCarthy and Peggy Bruce for most of our lives, but friendship is no reason to hire a Realtor, or any other professional for that matter. We listed our home with McCarthy Group Realtors and because of Shaun and Peggy’s record of success and we couldn’t be more pleased that we did. Although they are very well respected from Uptown New Orleans all the way to Baton Rouge, we felt they were uniquely qualified to represent us in Metairie Club Gardens, as they both grew up in the neighborhood. They worked tirelessly to market our property, without wasting our time on non-serious or unqualified buyers. One of the marketing tools used by McCarthy Group Realtors is “prospecting”, which entails contacting potential buyers to gauge interest, as well as current residents who may know of potential buyers. While we didn’t really appreciate the value of “prospecting” at the time we listed, we certainly do now! As our listing coordinator, Peggy updated us every Thursday on all efforts and activity. If we had questions at any other time, she was always available. Even when offers came in, Shaun and Peggy continued to vigorously market our home, as contingencies remained. In the end, we had three competing offers and sold our home for the highest per square foot price in Metairie Club Gardens at the time.

The McCarthy Group recently assisted me in selling my home in Bucktown. They were very professional, especially Stephanie Argrave. I am gladly giving my recommendation to you if you have a need to either buy or sell a home. They held open houses for other Realtors to view my home to get it "out there" to be seen.

When Shaun first contacted me about my listing, I was not ready to sell, so I asked him to call me back in 6 months. Shaun was not pushy and promised to touch base with me when I was ready. Six months to the day of that conversation, Shaun contacted me and set up a meeting with me, himself and Peggy Bruce. They diligently researched the comp listings and we mutually agreed upon the asking price. Once it was listed, they didn’t just simply place a sign in my yard, they actively marketed my property, contacting potential buyers that were already pre-approved and wanting a home that fit my home’s specifications. My home was on the market approximately 4 hours before I received my first offer! Peggy kept me informed weekly on the status of getting to closing day. She took care of all meetings with inspection companies, contractors, pest control specialists, title companies, etc. They truly earned every penny of the reasonable commission that they charged. They were a complete pleasure to work with.
